Serve your neighbors

Volunteer with us.

One of the most rewarding experiences of your life. Our combination department serves alongside dedicated volunteers who make a real difference.

Who we are

A proud combination department.

We operate with both career firefighters and dedicated volunteers working side by side. This model lets us provide excellent emergency services while giving citizens a meaningful way to serve their neighbors.

Our volunteers train alongside our career staff, respond to real emergencies, and are held to the same high standards of professionalism.

Be honest with yourself

A significant time commitment.

  • Extensive initial training
  • Ongoing training and drills
  • Calls at night and on holidays

Volunteering as a firefighter is a significant time investment, often much larger than people initially realize. You’ll complete extensive initial training, attend ongoing training, and dedicate time to responding to emergencies.

Before applying, have honest conversations with your family about time spent away from home, sometimes in the middle of the night or during holidays. Many volunteers underestimate the demands, and we’d rather you understand them fully.

That said, for those ready for the challenge, the rewards are immeasurable. You’ll gain skills, lifelong friendships, and the deep satisfaction of serving your community when they need it most.

Two ways in

Types of volunteers.

We offer two volunteer programs tailored to where you live. Both are vital to our operations.

  • Work a minimum of 24 hours per month to maintain membership
  • Attend required training sessions
  • Maintain certifications and continuing education
The honest truth

What volunteering really means.

It means being there for your neighbors on the worst days of their lives: leaving family dinners for car accidents, waking at 3 AM for structure fires, and spending weekends in training. It’s physically demanding and emotionally challenging.

It also means being part of a brotherhood and sisterhood unlike any other: gaining confidence, learning life-saving skills, and earning the respect of your community.

We don’t sugarcoat the commitment because we want volunteers who are ready for it. If you want to make a real difference, this may be the calling you’ve been looking for.
