Meet our Fire chief

Fire Chief Mike Stackhouse

Chief Stackhouse is 53 yrs. old, married to Mindy and has a son, Noah. Chief Stackhouse
enjoys the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. Chief Stackhouse began his fire career in 1987 as a
volunteer firefighter in Indiana and served in all ranks and capacity while a volunteer. He started
his career side in 2007 as an Assistant Chief and since served as a fire inspector, Fire Marshal,
and most recently as the Fire Chief at Fire District No. 1 in Leavenworth County, Kansas since
2020.

Chief Stackhouse holds many Indiana/IFSAC certifications to include, Firefighter II, Aircraft
Rescue Firefighter, Driver Operator-Pumper, Fire Inspector II, Fire Instructor III, and Fire Officer
IV. Chief Stackhouse is also certified through the International Code Council as a Fire Inspector
II, Building Plans Examiner, Fire Plans Examiner, Code Expert, and Certified Fire Marshal.
Chief Stackhouse was recently credentialed by the Centers for Public Safety Excellence as a
Chief Fire Officer (CFO). Chief Stackhouse holds a bachelor’s degree in Fire Science
Administration and is nearing completion of his master’s degree in Fire Rescue Executive
Leadership.

Chief Stackhouse expresses his delight in being back in his home state of Indiana and his
desire to serve the citizens, visitors, and employees in Wea Township. Chief Stackhouse looks
forward to the future progress and growth of Wea Twp. Fire Department.
